Air Zimbabwe London Flight Books 1,400 Passengers Ahead of Launch

Transport Minister Felix Mhona announced that 1,479 passengers have already booked seats on Air Zimbabwe’s new Harare-London direct flight, with 30 tonnes of cargo also reserved, NewZimbabwe.com reported. The state airline received a 302-seater Airbus A330-300 at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport. The launch marks the revival of a route abandoned years ago amid financial troubles and EU safety bans. Air Zimbabwe has struggled with a dilapidated fleet and mounting debts, making the new service a high-stakes gamble to restore credibility. The immediate hurdle is sustaining operational reliability and service quality to retain customers in a competitive international market. Any technical or financial misstep could quickly erode the initial booking momentum and deepen the airline’s losses.
