Air Zimbabwe Relaunches Direct London Flights to End Absence
Air Zimbabwe will resume direct flights between Harare and London later this month, ending a 14-year operational hiatus on the route. As reported by iHarare, the national carrier secured a leased Airbus A330-300 from Spanish airline Plus Ultra to service the three weekly flights. Historically, debt issues and safety concerns forced the airline to suspend its lucrative European routes. This relaunch represents a critical tactical step by the government to boost tourism and capture diaspora travel revenues. However, the airline faces intense competition from established Gulf carriers and must overcome lingering regulatory hurdles in European airspace.
