Air Zimbabwe Resumes London Flights After 14-Year Suspension

The Zimbabwean government announced that state carrier Air Zimbabwe will resume direct flights between Harare and London at the end of July. The airline scheduled one-way tickets at $495 and return flights at $900 to capture peak summer travel demand. This operational milestone ends a 14-year hiatus triggered by mounting debts and the threat of aircraft seizure by international creditors. The carrier previously faced bans from European airspace over safety concerns, which forced years of restructuring. Air Zimbabwe faces intense competition from established Gulf and African carriers currently dominating the lucrative European corridor.
