Bulawayo Industrial Conference Targets Economic Transformation

The Ministry of Industry and Commerce has partnered with Africa Economic Development Strategies to host the inaugural Zimbabwe Industrialisation Conference and Expo in Bulawayo. Scheduled for July 23-24, 2026, the event aims to catalyze the country’s industrial transformation agenda. While the government promotes this as a strategic milestone, industry leaders remain skeptical of the actual impact on manufacturing output. The conference faces the challenge of addressing deep-seated structural barriers, including energy shortages and capital constraints. The core vulnerability is the disconnect between high-level policy summits and the harsh operational realities facing local manufacturers.
