Health Ambulance Revival

Bulawayo revives ambulance service for pregnant women

Pregnant women in Bulawayo will benefit from improved ambulance services following the revival of the Urban Ambulance Service. According to Daily News, the city council restored the service after years of neglect. However, the fleet remains small and fuel shortages could disrupt operations. Maternal mortality rates in Zimbabwe are among the highest in the region, and the revival is a drop in the ocean. The core vulnerability is that piecemeal improvements cannot compensate for the collapse of Zimbabwe's public health system, where basic emergency transport remains a luxury.
