Harare tightens service station spacing rules

Harare City Council introduced tougher regulations for new service stations, including a 1.5km minimum spacing requirement, compulsory public notice boards, and mandatory environmental assessments. According to New Zimbabwe, the measures were revealed during a parliamentary tour. The council cited concerns over the proliferation of service stations, many operating without proper permits. However, the new rules could stifle competition and increase fuel prices.
