Mutimurefu Prison Escapee Captured After Being Shot Twice

James Masunda, 34, one of two inmates who escaped from Mutimurefu Prison, was captured in Renco after being shot twice in the leg during the operation. Masunda, serving a 20-year sentence for armed robbery, was taken to Masvingo Provincial Hospital for treatment. The escape and recapture expose security lapses at the prison, which has a history of breakouts. The incident raises questions about the effectiveness of correctional facilities and the risks posed by recidivist offenders.
