New cancer machines arrive at Mpilo
Mpilo Central Hospital in Bulawayo acquired and will soon commission modern cancer treatment equipment, marking a milestone for Zimbabwe's healthcare system. According to Daily News, the machines are expected to improve diagnosis and treatment for thousands of patients. However, the equipment arrives after years of shortages that forced patients to seek treatment abroad. Critics argue that without trained staff and reliable power supply, the machines may remain underutilized. New hardware alone cannot fix systemic failures in Zimbabwe's health sector, including brain drain and chronic underfunding.
