Old Mutual Migrates to VFEX After Six-Year Suspension

Old Mutual Zimbabwe announced its decision to migrate its secondary listing from the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange to the dollarized Victoria Falls Stock Exchange (VFEX). The financial giant confirmed the move remains subject to final regulatory approvals from capital market authorities. The transition resolves a highly contentious six-year suspension that froze trading of the country's largest investment counter. Government officials originally halted trading in 2020, accusing fungible dual-listed shares of driving currency depreciation. This migration highlights the corporate flight from the volatile local currency toward offshore-focused, dollar-denominated trading havens.
