RioZim Prioritizes Cam & Motor Mine Recovery After Flooding

RioZim announced it will prioritize bringing its Cam & Motor Mine in Kadoma back to normal production capacity following the completion of extensive dewatering works. The Financial Gazette reported that the mining firm successfully resumed direct gold operations after a prolonged operational halt. The company suspended all direct mining and processing operations at the site nearly two years ago to address critical flooding in its pits. This suspension severely impacted the miner's overall gold output and strained its balance sheet during a period of high global commodity prices. The core vulnerability for RioZim remains its exposure to severe weather disruptions and the high capital costs required to maintain deep-pit infrastructure.
