Six Killed in Fatal Collision Near Redcliff Turn-Off

Six people died in a horrific road accident on the Harare–Bulawayo Highway near the Redcliff turn-off on Monday. The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirmed that the collision involved a Honda Fit and a haulage truck, occurring at the 223-kilometre peg. This tragedy adds to a growing list of fatal road incidents that have plagued the country's major transport arteries this year. Emergency services and law enforcement are under increasing pressure to address the high frequency of accidents caused by speeding and vehicle unroadworthiness. The lack of effective traffic policing remains the core vulnerability. Poor maintenance of major highways continues to claim lives at an alarming rate.
