Zimbabwe accelerates push for universal electricity by 2030

The Zimbabwean government is accelerating efforts to achieve universal electricity access by 2030 through rural electrification, solar schemes, and private-sector partnerships. The plan targets areas currently off-grid, aiming to connect over 70% of rural households within the next four years. However, the country’s chronic power generation deficits and aging infrastructure pose significant implementation risks.
