Parliament Report Exposes Tongaat Hulett’s Sugar Milling Monopoly Stranglehold

Zimbabwe’s sugar industry is being suffocated by a single corporate actor controlling both major mills. The Portfolio Committee on Industry and Commerce revealed that Tongaat Hulett's Hippo Valley and Triangle operations have created a monopoly that imposes heavy costs on farmers. The report warns that this concentration of ownership is crippling the entire value chain and undermining competitiveness.
