Woman Arrested for Staging Fake US$30,000 Robbery

A Harare woman and three friends were arrested after police investigations exposed an alleged staged armed robbery involving US$30,000 belonging to her husband, iHarare News reported. Beauty Muzvondiwa, 32, was apprehended alongside Loveness Rice, 25, Rhoda Zuze, 43, and Ruvimbo Hodhera, 24. Police found inconsistencies in the robbery report and traced the stolen cash to the suspects, leading to the arrests and recovery of part of the amount. The case has drawn public attention to household financial crime and the use of inside information to divert family assets. Investigators now face pressure to recover the full amount and determine whether the husband was a knowing participant or a victim. The apparent inside job has also triggered scrutiny of how domestic financial disputes are reported and investigated.
