Teachers Threaten Nationwide Job Action

Disgruntled teachers accuse Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube of dishonesty regarding government's commitment to improve their welfare. This follows a continuous rise in the cost of living. The Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe (ARTUZ) president Obert Masaraure submitted a petition to Minister Ncube, issuing an ultimatum over unmet government promises. Teachers are the latest group of civil servants to demand a salary review, following industrial action threats by nurses. ARTUZ warns of nationwide job action if their demands for better salaries are not met, stating "No solution, no school."
