RBZ Reassures Investors on ZiG Stability

The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe is intensifying efforts to narrow the premium on the ZiG, reassuring investors about exchange rate stability. Zimbabwe’s parallel market exchange rate premium stayed within a 20 percent margin in the first quarter of 2026, a key step in stabilizing the ZiG. The official exchange rate averaged ZiG25.59 per US dollar. RBZ Governor Matshe noted the gradual transition to a mono-currency system. In a practical shift, some service stations have started accepting ZiG for fuel payments.
