High Court Acquits Journalist Faith Zaba
The High Court acquitted Zimbabwe Independent editor Faith Zaba of charges related to a satirical column. The legal proceedings, which lasted nearly a year, stemmed from an article critical of President Emmerson Mnangagwa. Zaba described the prosecution as a traumatic experience that infringed upon her professional dignity. Her legal team successfully argued that the charges lacked merit. Judicial intervention ended a prolonged period of legal pressure on the media sector.
