Harare Man Charged for Recruiting for Russian Army
Edward Kachingwe, a 36-year-old Harare resident, appeared in court on Monday charged with recruiting Zimbabweans to fight for the Russian military in Ukraine. A Harare magistrate remanded him in custody and directed him to apply for bail at the High Court. The charges allege Kachingwe operated a recruitment network connecting Zimbabwean nationals to Russian military service. Prosecutors presented evidence linking the accused to multiple recruitment transactions. The High Court will now determine whether Kachingwe receives bail pending trial.
