High Court recognizes liquidation of Namibian bank

The High Court formally recognized the liquidation of Namibia's failed Small and Medium Enterprise Bank. Justice Siyabona Musithu ruled in favor of joint liquidators David John Bruni and Ian Robert McLaren, granting them authority to recover assets within Zimbabwe. The ruling enables the enforcement of judgments previously obtained in Namibian courts to recoup lost depositor funds. Legal experts noted that the decision strengthens cross-border judicial cooperation and asset recovery mechanisms within the region. Liquidators must now identify and secure specific local properties linked to the failed institution.
