Two road accidents claim six lives

The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirmed that two separate road traffic accidents claimed six lives over the weekend. The fatal incidents occurred along the Mvuma-Gweru Road and the Harare-Masvingo Highway during peak travel hours. Road safety advocates renewed calls for stricter enforcement of speed limits and regular vehicle safety inspections. Transport operators blamed poor road conditions and inadequate highway lighting for the high frequency of night accidents. The core vulnerability of national highway safety remains the lack of consistent traffic policing during late-night hours.
