Harare-Beitbridge highway rehabilitation nears completion

The Harare-Masvingo-Beitbridge Highway rehabilitation project entered its final stretch with only 31.9 kilometers remaining unfinished on the 582-kilometer route. Contractors completed and opened 550.1 kilometers to traffic, marking significant progress on the major regional transport corridor. The highway serves as Zimbabwe's primary link to South Africa, handling substantial freight and passenger traffic between the two countries. Construction delays and funding challenges previously slowed the project, which the government designated as a national priority infrastructure initiative.
