Banks to access Deeds Office in property fraud crackdown
The government will digitally connect financial institutions to the Deeds Office to reduce property fraud and simplify ownership verification. Justice Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi announced the initiative as part of efforts to strengthen the property registration system. The digital link allows banks to verify immovable property titles directly, reducing reliance on manual documentation. The move targets fake property titles that have undermined confidence in real estate transactions. The system aims to eliminate fraudulent title deeds from property transactions.
