Police hunt cow owner after fatal Highlanders crash

The Zimbabwe Republic Police launched investigations to identify and prosecute the owner of a cow believed to have caused the crash that killed three Highlanders FC executives and a supporter. The accident occurred near Lochard, approximately 60 kilometres from Bulawayo, on Thursday evening. Police say the vehicle struck a stray cow on the highway, resulting in the fatal collision. The investigation seeks to establish criminal liability for allowing livestock onto a major highway. The ZRP simultaneously urged motorists to avoid night travel, citing poor visibility and stray livestock as primary dangers on the country's highways. The warning follows a documented increase in fatal road traffic accidents after dark.
