IMF upgrades Zimbabwe outlook after review

The IMF completed the first review of Zimbabwe's 10-month Staff-Monitored Programme, and management approved the outcome after confirming all targets were met through March 2026. The Fund praised Zimbabwe's strong policy implementation and upgraded the country's economic outlook, citing sustained low inflation and exchange rate stability. The Fund warned that economic risks persist, including vulnerability to external shocks and the need for continued fiscal discipline. It also noted the economy's resilience and projected continued single-digit inflation. The programme consolidates macroeconomic stabilisation gains and underpins a favourable outlook.
