Zimbabwe tobacco output rises despite market challenges

Zimbabwe's tobacco industry registered higher output and stronger sales performance in 2026 despite a challenging global market environment. As of July 29, the country sold more than 356.2 million kg of tobacco worth US$887.9 million, a 1% increase from the previous season. The Tobacco Industry and Marketing Board (TIMB) reported the figures on Friday. The resilience of the sector underscores its importance to Zimbabwe's agricultural exports.
