Air Zimbabwe raises Harare-London fares by up to 60 percent

Air Zimbabwe hiked fares on the Harare-London route by up to 60% as it restored normal flight operations after a week of disruptions. One-way ticket prices rose by 59.6%, and return fares increased by a similar margin. The airline had cancelled and rescheduled flights last week after a pilot fell ill, exposing its reliance on a thin crew roster. The national carrier recently relaunched the route after a 14-year absence. The steep fare hike may undermine demand for the route and the airline's limited operational capacity.
