EU commits funds to Zimbabwe cholera crisis

The European Union allocated US$345,000 to support Zimbabwe's cholera response and assist returnees from South Africa. The funding will go toward health infrastructure, water sanitation, and reintegration programs. The EU's contribution aims to contain the outbreak while addressing the immediate needs of returnees arriving through Beitbridge. The outbreak has strained health services in border areas. The funding covers a fraction of the estimated US$10 million needed for a full cholera containment campaign.
