ZWG annual inflation falls to 2.9% in August

Zimbabwe's ZWG annual inflation rate fell to 2.9% in August 2026, down from 3.2% in July, according to the Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (ZimStat). The decline marks continued disinflation in the local currency. The central bank's tight monetary policy and reduced money supply growth have helped stabilize prices. However, businesses still face parallel market premiums and dollarization pressures. The low inflation figure masks persistent foreign currency shortages and parallel market volatility.
