Justice Hungwe takes oath as Supreme Court head

Justice Charles Hungwe took the oath of office as the inaugural Judge President of Zimbabwe's Supreme Court yesterday in a ceremony at the High Court. The ceremony established the new leadership structure for the country's highest court and paves the way for efficient case management. The consolidation eliminates overlapping functions among the three former entities, creating a unified corporate structure for electricity generation, transmission, and distribution. The government expects the restructuring to improve efficiency, attract investment, and enhance service delivery to consumers across the country. The unified utility will now manage all aspects of power supply under one corporate structure. The move centralizes decision-making and formalizes the restructuring that had been underway for months.
